빌보드TOP20에 올라갔나 싶더니 금새 상위권으로 뛰어올랐다.

요즈음 2집 음반 [The Reason](2003년)을 통해 지구촌을 무대로 날개를 마음껏 펴고 있는 후바스탱크는 포스트 그런지 필드의 넘버원 기대주다. 셀프 타이틀 데뷔작 [Hoobastank]를 통해 이미 [롤링 스톤]지가 선정한 '주목해야 할 차세대 아티스트 10'에 당당히 꼽히기도 했던 그들은 소포모어 징크스를 비웃기라도 하듯, 이번 신보를 기점으로 팝계에서 자신들의 입지를 한층 더 단단히 굳혔다. 후바스탱크는 또한 보컬을 맡고 있는 더글러스 롭이 베트남 계로 알려지며 입소문 전파에 가속도를 붙였다. 더글러스 롭은 동양계답지 않은 서구풍의 폭발적인 가창력과 귀여운 외모를 내세우며 그룹의 팬 베이스를 확충하는데 크게 기여, 얼굴 마담으로 역할을 톡톡히 하고 있다. 2집의 첫 싱글 'Out Of Control'이 그의 탁월한 노래 실력을 잘 대변해준다. 그는 팝 역사상 최초로 세계 시장에서 깃발을 휘날린 베트남계 아티스트로 기록되고 있다.
