일본에서 활동하는 우리나라 여자 가수...윤하...
이 곡은 너무나 한국적이다...
사실 너무 어린 탓일까....뭔가 아쉬운 느낌의 노래지만...
오히려 그런 풋풋한 느낌이 매력적인 곡....
우리나라에 있었으면 고3....
윤하의 첫 번째 Single Album이다.
그녀의 모습을 담은 '인간극장'이 방영된 이후 한국에서도 급격하게
인기를 얻었고 팬들도 많이 생겨났다.

혼자 음악만 듣고 있는건 비가 오는 날엔 좋지 않은 짓이다. 확실히....

모 커피CF에 나왔다. 지금도 나오나? 암튼...얼마전에 TV에서 들렸었는데....
그 CF에 꽤 잘맞는 곡인듯.....내 기억에 있던 느낌과는 조금 달랐지만....

일렉트로닉 어쿠스틱 포크 팝의 여제, Dido

1971년 12월 25일 생인 일렉트로닉 포크 팝 여 가수 다이도(Dido)는 6살의 어린 나이에 런던 길드홀 음악 학교(Guildhall School Of Music)에 입학, 수학한 음악 영재로 10대에 접어들면서 피아노와 바이올린 그리고 피리를 마스터 하는 천부적인 재능을 과시하기도 했다. 클래식 앙상블과 투어 하면서 저작권 협회 관련 일을 맡아보는 한편 지역 밴드들과 협연을 벌이는 등 대중 음악 신에서의 활동도 병행해 갔다. 그러던 중 1995년에는 유명한 DJ이자 프로듀서 인 친 오빠 롤로(Rollo)가 만든 트립 합 그룹 페이스리스(Faithless)에 가입해 본격적인 활동을 시작했다. 그룹의 1996년 데뷔 앨범 [Reverence]는 세계적으로 5백만 장 이상 팔려나가는 성공을 거두었다. 이 즈음 다이도는 솔로 싱어로 지신의 길을 개척해 가기고 작정했고 격정적이면서 한편 아름답고 차분, 은은하게 공명하는 자신 만의 보컬과 어쿠스틱 팝과 일렉트로니카를 교묘하게 믹스한 음악 스타일을 확립해 나갔다. [아리스타]와 계약한 그녀는 1999년 데뷔 앨범 [No Angel]을 출시했고 같은 해 여름 [릴리스 페어(Lilith Fair)]에 참가하기도 했다. 에미넴의 빅 히트 싱글 ‘Stan’에 'Thank You’를 삽입한 것이 알려지면서 오리지널 버전을 부른 그녀 역시 덩달아 인기 상종가를 달리게 되었다. 현재 지적이면서 전향적인 여성 뮤지션 가운데 하나로 꼽히며 세계적인 인기를 구가하고 있다. 그리고 2003년 9월에 나온 그녀의 두번째 앨범 [Life For Rent]는 발매 첫주 빌보드차트 4위로 등장을 해서 발매 3개월만에 100만장이 넘는 판매고를 보이며 승승장구하고 있다.

많은 가수가 다시 부른 비틀즈의 명곡 중 하나....
이 곡을 처음 들었던 곳은....(Fiona Apple이 부른 바로 이 곡)
창문틀이 나무로 된 뿌연 창 밖으로 햇빛이 내가 누워있는
각도만큼 낮게 깔려 들어오는 늦은 오후....친구집.....이였다.
사실 너무 그 분위기와 잘 어울려서 한없이 반복해서 들었었는데.....

오늘처럼 비오는 날에도 너무나 잘 어울린다는 생각이 든다.....
끝도 없이 반복해서 나오는 노래가 너무 기분을 쳐지게 만드는건 아닐까....
하는 생각이 들어서 일어나 앉았을 때는 이미 꽤 많은 시간이 흐른 뒤였다.

Pleasantville은 꽤 잼있게 본 영화였는데....사실 이 곡은 영화의 전체적인 분위기와
잘 어울리지 않는다....따라서 설명 생략...
가수나 가사도 너무나 잘 알려져 있으므로 생략..

내가 Nickelback의 음악은 전혀 올린적이 없다는 사실....
목소리만으로도 내 귀에서 이어폰이 떨어지지 못하게 하는데....풋...

밤이 너무 늦어서 짧게 쓸려고 했는데......아쉬워서 소개까지!!  훗...

캐나다의 밴쿠버에서 음악 인생의 시작점을 찍은 4인조 록 그룹 니클백은 결성 당시 아주 ‘작은’ 공동체에 불과했다. 채드 크로거(Chad Kroeger, 보컬, 기타)와 마이크 크로거(Mike Kroeger, 베이스) 형제에 라이언 피크(Ryan Peake, 기타, 보컬), 라이언 비케달(Ryan Vikedal, 드럼) 등이 힘을 합쳐 구성한 뒤, 클럽 등지에서 조그마한 공연을 갖곤 했던 미완의 대기였다. 그러나 서는 무대마다 최선을 다해 연주 활동을 이어나갔던 그들에게 ‘크게 될 수 있는’ 기회가 찾아온 건 얼마 지나지 않아서였다.
무엇보다 다른 이들의 곡을 커버하는 데 지친 리더 채드 크로거가 점차 송라이팅에 매진하기 시작, 그룹 성장을 위한 주춧돌 쌓기에 심혈을 기울였다. 비록 처음에는 난산의 고통이 따랐지만, 곧 그들만의 오리지널 송들을 보유하게 되었고 이를 바탕으로 데뷔 EP [Hesher]과 앨범 [Curb]를 1996년에 내놓았다. 두 음반에 대한 팬들의 괜찮은 피드백 속에 밴드는 전국 순회 공연을 감행하며 내실을 다져나갔다.
레코드와 공연 활동을 병행하며 캐나다에서 어느 정도 이름을 알린 그들은 1999년 2집 [The State]를 전과 마찬가지로 자비 제작으로 출시, 더 큰 호응을 얻었다. 자연스레 세계적인 록 전문 레이블 [로드러너]로부터 스카우트 제의가 들어왔고, 2000년 미국에서 음반을 다시 발매해 수록 곡인 ‘Breathe’와 ‘Leader Of Men’을 [빌보드] 메인스트림 록 차트 톱 텐에 포진 시켰다. 또한 영화 [블레어 위치 2] 사운드트랙에 수록된 ‘Old Enough’는 밴드의 인지도 향상에 도움을 주었고 이를 계기로 여기저기서 니클백이 크리드의 뒤를 이어 포스트 그런지의 차세대 대권주자가 될 것임을 암시하는 목소리가 들려왔다.

이를 증명이라도 하듯, 2001년에 나온 [Silver Side Up]은 빅 히트 싱글 ‘How You Remind Me’를 선봉으로 보다 강력해진 사운드를 들려주며 실로 엄청난 팬들의 지지를 확보했다. ‘2002년 라디오 전파를 가장 많이 탄 곡’으로 꼽힌 데서 알 수 있듯, 곡은 [빌보드] 싱글, 모던 록, 메인스트림 록 차트 정상을 모조리 쓸어 담으며 그 엄청난 위세를 과시했다. 바다 건너 국내에까지 그들의 명성이 들리기 시작한 것도 모두 이 곡의 빼어난 선전 덕분이었다.
그리고 2003년. 통산 4집에 해당하는 [The Long Road]를 발표한 니클백은 전작 못지않은 성적을 일궈내며 변치 않는 팬들의 지지를 확인했다. 무엇보다 [빌보드] 차트 6위라는 음반 순위와 메인스트림 록 차트 2위까지 치솟은 싱글 ‘Someday’의 히트 퍼레이드가 이를 잘 대변해 주었다.
언급했듯, 니클백의 음악에 새로운 요소는 없다. 오히려 구식이라는 느낌이 강하게 들만큼 예전의 소스들에 전적으로 기대고 있다 말하는 편이 낫다. 물론 최근의 록이 더 이상의 미탐사 지대를 찾지 못한 채 과거의 유산들을 재해석하고 있는 형편이기는 하지만, 그 중에서도 니클백은 그 활용도가 꽤 높은 축에 속한다. 간단하게 말해 1970년대의 클래식 록에 1990년대의 그런지를 합쳐 놓으면 딱 니클백 음악으로 뽑아져 나오는 것이다. 복잡할 것이 전혀 없는 음악이다.

12 ) I Don't Know You Anymore

가끔 생각지도 못하던 곳이나...생각지도 못했던 때에 너무나 귀에 익은 음악이 들려올 때가 있다.
너무나 반갑고....이 곡이 누구의 노래인지 생각하고 기억이 잘 나지 않으면 답답해지기도 한다.

오늘.......너무나 오랜만에. 반갑게 들렸던 노래...
제목이 생각이 안나서 찾는데 시간이 좀 걸렸던 노래...;;;

사실 이 앨범에서 엄지손가락이라면 역시 'I knew I Loved You'겠지만.....
여기저기서 가끔씩이라도 흘러나오는 곡보다는 이 노래처럼 듣기 힘든 노래를
우연히 들어서 더 좋게 들리는 것일까...ㅋㅋ

이름으로 데뷔한 흑인 가수다. 근데 참...이 가수가 엄청나게도 데뷔하자마자 빌보드 차트를 휩쓸었다.
데뷔 싱글 ‘So Sick’과 데뷔 앨범 ‘Ne-Yo’로 3월 18일 빌보드 싱글 앨범 차트 동시 1위
Usher의 뒤를 이어 최고의 흑인 남성 가수라고 칭찬들이 자자하다...
1번과 4번 Track인 Stay와 When You're Mad도 인기를 얻었다.

그냥....혼자 멍하게 출퇴근 시간에 흥얼거리는 노래.....
